MyGame to Produce and Broadcast Norway’s Elite Volleyball Leagues

MyGame, part of Sportway Media Group, has acquired the rights to the Mizuno League, which is the Norwegian elite volleyball league for women and men. The streaming company will also broadcast both women’s and men’s national team matches.

To ensure a broad production of Norwegian volleyball, the Norwegian Volleyball Federation (NVBF), TV 2 and MyGame have agreed that MyGame will take over the rights from TV 2. TV 2 will continue to broadcast selected matches on linear TV and will remain involved in the development of Norwegian volleyball. TV 2 is one of the co-owners of MyGame.

Secretary General of the Norwegian Volleyball Federation, Guro Røen, is excited about the new rights holder:

”With MyGame on board, we will have broad visibility and increased exposure for our sport. We look forward to further developing Norwegian volleyball together with MyGame and our clubs,” says Røen.

The rights in question cover the Mizuno League, which is the women’s and men’s elite volleyball league. Additionally, MyGame will stream the national team matches for both genders.

”We are very excited about being part of building up the Mizuno League in Norway, and we are pleased to work even closer with the volleyball federation,” says Lars Setsaa, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of MyGame.

Norwegian elite and grassroots volleyball consists of about 300 clubs and more than 500 teams, spread across around 140 indoor arenas in Norway. There are about 7000 matches played in a season, and the federation has around 25,000 registered members. The Mizuno League constitutes the top volleyball league for women and men, currently structured with a regular league where approximately 160 matches are played per season.

”There are significant changes happening in the way sports are being produced, and with fixed cameras and intelligent camera tracking technology, it has become much easier to produce content on a large scale. This enables more sports to receive broader media coverage,” says Lars Setsaa, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of MyGame Norway.

”We are very excited about the collaboration we now have with the volleyball federation,” he adds.
