Experience all matches live and exclusively on Metalligaen.tv
New platform. Sharper profile. Larger productions. Increased focus on viewing experience. More commercial opportunities for clubs and their sponsors.
Danish ice hockey will be charting a fresh course when Herning Blue Fox opens the new season on Friday 1st of September with the premiere game against SønderjyskE.
The match will be shown on the platform Metalligaen.tv, which will be the new hub for the top Danish ice hockey league. Around 265 matches will be available, including regular season, play-offs and finals. You can also see Metal Final 4 on Metalligaen.tv.
The team behind this comprehensive ice hockey coverage has high ambitions for setting a new standard.
”We have invested in the exclusive rights to the Metal Ligaen because we believe in this league. The top ice hockey league is one of the strongest sports brands in Denmark, and our task will be to further refine Metal Ligaen,” says Anders Antonsen, CEO of Sportway in Denmark.
Six-Year Agreement
Earlier this year, Sportway secured the right to both produce and stream all games exclusively from Metal Ligaen for the next six years.
”It is a long-term investment and we are confident that we, together with the clubs, can take Metal Ligaen to the next level. We believe that the time is ripe to give the Danish league its own ”arena”, and that is why we are now launching the streaming platform Metalligaen.tv. Here you can watch all games live and on demand,” says Anders Antonsen.
Training Games Also Available
A subscription to Metalligaen.tv costs DKK 99 per month, though you can shrewdly choose to buy an annual subscription for DKK 699. As part of the launch, you can receive a 15% discount on the annual subscription, and a 20% discount on the monthly subscription for the first three months, if you subscribe before the 1st of September.
Danish ice hockey fans typically use the ticket platform ”Unlimited Hockey” to follow their clubs, and here the fans have the option of taking out a monthly subscription for DKK 89 or an annual subscription for DKK 599.
You can already access the new platform for free. The Danish clubs in Metal Ligaen play over 20 practice games from the 11th of August until the season opener in Denmark. Almost all games are shown with commentary, on Metalligaen.tv.
”It is a vote of confidence in the sport and the Danish clubs to invest in both the rights, a new platform and larger productions. For Danish ice hockey, it has long been a dream to have its own platform and to add more resources to the sport. Metalligaen.tv and the talented crew who will lift the coverage of the league will further sharpen the profile of Danish ice hockey,” says league manager Claus Fonnesbech Christensen.
Klaus B. Rasmussen, chairman of the league association, is also looking forward to the collaboration:
”We have only encountered energy, innovation and optimism on behalf of Danish ice hockey since entering into the agreement with Sportway. Both parties are adamant that we must succeed with this project. Metalligaen.tv will be a new and exciting window for Danish ice hockey, benefitting the clubs, our fans and our sponsors,” says Klaus B. Rasmussen.
Can Be Viewed on All Devices
Metalligaen.tv can be viewed on computer, mobile and tablet, and can also be chromecasted to your TV.
At www.metalligaen.tv you can find more information on how the new platform works and enjoy free access to the Danish ice hockey clubs’ training games ahead of the new season.
